WELCOME TO LARP COR

Events for LARP Community Organizers

Communities form around LARPs, whether it’s one parlor game, a monthly campaign, an annual destination LARP, or an ongoing rotation of one-shots. And where there are communities, there are community organizers. The role can be formal – a staff or board member- or informal, like the person who always brings snacks, or offers up their living room for the event.

There are lots of LARP conventions that cater to players. The primary focus is running and playing games.  There are a smaller number of events that cater to LARP writers, spaces where people can swap tips and tricks and discuss trends within and across LARP traditions in a more formal setting. What there isn’t a lot of is space specifically designed for community organizers. Organizers do a lot of often thankless work to help keep communities safer and welcoming for players and writers, to keep the lights on, and the good times rolling.

LARP COR Events are intended for them. We create spaces to discuss the unique challenges and rewards of organizing and share space with other people who do similar work in their own communities. All self identified organizers are welcome. Whether you are a business owner trying to turn a profit running LARPs, the ringleader of a group of friends who play regularly, someone who wants to start a LARP community in your home town, or anything in between.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

LARP COR stands for "LARP Community Organizers Retreat." Since we started as an annual retreat for community organizers, and it's a catchy abbreviation, we've carried it forward beyond just our retreats.
