LARP COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS RETREAT 2026

Our 8th Annual Retreat

*** Retreat dates: September 11 - 13, 2026 ***

Hello Friends of LARP COR,

The Larp Community Organizers Retreat is quickly approaching! This is our eighth annual, weekend retreat, and exists as a space for larp community organizers to meet, share stories and experiences, and learn from one another. This year we are meeting IN-PERSON the weekend of Sept 11-13, 2026 at the Avila Center in Durham, North Carolina.

We can host up to 40 people for this event, and the price will be between $300-400 per person. The final price will depend on the total number of sign-ups; more attendees will reduce the cost, so please spread the word! Our site is roughly 30 minutes from Raleigh-Durham Airport. You can learn more about the venue at their website at https://www.avilacenter.org/

Check back for registration and schedule information.

We have a Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2661212720985137/

We have a broad definition of who is a Larp Community Organizer. Communities form around larps, whether it's one parlor game, a monthly campaign, an annual destination larp, or an ongoing rotation of one-shots. Behind every successful community are the community organizers. The role can be formal—a staff, board member, or designer,—or informal, like the person who always brings snacks, or offers up their living room for the event. If you have found yourself in one of these roles, or are interested in taking on one of these roles, this event is for you!
